I'm looking for any information regarding becoming certified to grade coins. Not how to get coins graded, but how do be the person who grades them. Any additional (and relevant) information is appreciated.

  1. You will have to google that topic.  I did that already, and there are alot of agencies out there....kinda like anything you would try and get certified in.  Read up on those things and choose the best route for yourself.

  2. You need to work in numismatics for a good number of years for one does not learn to grade coins over night. I have been collecting coins for 50 years and have been a numismatist for 48 and I know how to grade coins but don't think I even have the knowledge to do it professionally. One place to start is take the summer grading course the ANA gives. You can google ANA (American Numismatic Assoc.). It takes many years working with coins and coin dealers to be a pro grader, the fastest way would be to get a job at a grading company and work your way up. Most grades are older folks.
