How do I become fertile again after DEPO???

Question

I took my first and last shot on April 01, 2008 and decided not to take it again because we were planning on getting pregnant. I have been bleeding since June now and just want my normal cycle back! Is there anything I can do or take to help accomplish being normal? I know this is really common, but I'm really frustrated and don't know what to do about it!

I had 3 depo shots, and my last one was about 5 years ago. My husband and I have been TTC for 3+ years and we haven't had any luck. I honestly think the reason we can't conceive is because of the shot. I really hope things work out better for you, than they have worked out for me and my husband.

WOW!! That sounds like the same thing that happen to me! There is nothing you can take to make your period go back to normal the only thing you can do is sit and wait!! I hope everything goes well for you! If u need anymore help email me at the source below!!

Depo Provera is an intramuscular injection that prevents ovulation, and works reliably for at least three months after the shot. The average woman will ovulate about six to nine months after the last shot. There are no herbal or other medications that could help, and Clomid does not usually work reliably so shortly after the Depo shot.

i too have had depo in the past and i wish that someone would have warned me about the side effects that it would have on my body and my cycles. after having the depo twice my periods have never returned to normal, they are all over the place and very heavy!!

i think you will just have to wait it out.....i havnt tried getting pregnant yet, but i think when me and my partner finally do want to start trying it might be a bit harder!!! hopefully fingers crossed that we will concieve, and best of luck to you!!

It takes time to get your cycle back after taking depo.  I only had one shot and it took me 8 months to get my cycle back.  The time before that, I was on depo for a year, and it took over a year to get my period back.  There's nothing else you can do but wait, unfortunately.  I've had 2 babies since depo.

I was on the depo for about a year and i wish i hadn't been. I've been trying for a baby for almost 2 years. I asked my doctor and he said as soon as you get your period back you should b able to conceive. My periods came back straight away. I did full pegnant back in feb but miscarriaged at 5 weeks. the depo messes your body up inside. doctors don't tell you all the info you need before you get the depo. It can take ages for your body to come back to normal. Don't give up though. go to a health shop and ask them for something to cleans you system out. but most things are not good to take while pregnant, so you may have to take time out from trying to sort your body out. otherwise it just takes time.
