I am 16 years old entering 11th grade and I've started to think about a potential career choice. I have always been drawn to the workings of the stock market and I have found a job title that fits my fancy, interest wise as well as, of course, salary wise. I would like to become a hedge fund manager. My question is how to i get to that level? Where do I need to go to school? What classes do I take? What degrees do i need? What can i do now to prepare? I've read a little on the internet about what business school to go to and i think i need to go somewhere like the Wharton School at U penn. I make good grades and I'm driven, but can I make it into a school like that?

  1. Find a field in securities that you would do for free.  That is the secret to success in any line of work.  It is not Wharton or die.  Just work hard and the other parts will fall into place. Maybe, your preparatory school is less demanding than your academic competition.  Do not let that stop you from trying to build the career while you still can dream.  That is when you also accomplish goals if the dream is combined with hard work.
