Question:

How do I become more decisive?

I suppose sometimes I worry about making the wrong decision and regretting it, so I make no decision at all. Some things get left to a split second decision (due to not being able to make a well informed decision at an earlier time) which is quite stressful. Also I feel like I sometimes live in the orbit of more decisive people as they can make up their mind before me and so usually end up calling the shots. I do have opinions and don't mind sharing them but my laid back approach is starting to get my down.I feel like I'm missing opportunites because I can't make decisions (?) Please help everyone! Thank you x

  1. maybe you are lacking in confidence, and spend too much time analizing the results of what may happen if you decide to do this...or that.

Trust your own judgement, make a decision, one or the other and stick to it.

If you are still having difficulty try asking yourself

'what is the worst thing that can happen if i wrongly decide to do this......or that.

That will put your fears to rest and help to make your mind up. you will grow in confidence, with experience

  2. Going forward; from this day on -- commit to making one decision a day.  Even if it is which way to turn, or what to have for lunch.  Over time, it will get easier.  When someone asks what you think -- tell them.  Don't say "I don't care -- it's your choice," listen for your voice!
