  1. assuming your receiver can handle the load, you use the a and b channels. the a channel to the lower terminals on each speaker and the b to the higher terminal on each speaker. this also assumes that there is an internal frequency limiter connected to the tweeter (so that it does not blow). you must then have both channels on and make sure red to red and black to black on all four connections. thats it.

  3. Why do you want to bi-wire? There are theoretical arguments for some slight advantage, but arguments for disadvantage as well. I feel there is only one slight advantage and that is to reduce the overall impedence load of the speaker wire (after all, you have essentially doubled the cross section (assuming identical wire)).

On the other hand there may be a better argument for bi-amping a speaker. But this requires two amplifier channels for each speaker (readily feasible for the front stereo pair in a 5.1 setup if you have a 7.1 receiver that allows bi-amping).

For a discussion in fairly basic terms see the link. There are also some good diagrams that answer your question.

Finally, the 2nd link is to the RTi10 manual ... which diagrams how to both biwire and bi-amp the RTi10

In my opinion that is the most USELESS thing I have ever seen. What a way to market more speaker cable.

What they are showing in the diagram normally would be called bi-amping. But ONLY if you are using 2 amplifiers!!

I love the marketing in consumer electronics!
