Question:

How do I boost my friend's confidence?

I was talking to my friend tonight, and somehow we began discussing how he thinks he doesn't improve at anything and only gets worse (btw, this guy friend also happens to be my crush, but that's irrelevant). How do I counteract something like that? I think I told him that I disagree and that he shouldn't think that way, but I don't think I helped. What should I say in the future?

  2. point out the things he is good at and wat he should to do improve. tell him u can help him out wen he needs it

  3. tell him to get your head out of your *** and quit being a d**k about it

  4. I would start off by giving him a compliment every time you see him.

He seems to have some low self esteem and you counter saying it may not make much difference when he has it in his head that he is no good.

Find the things you think he is good at and compliment him on them.  For example:  You really handled that situation well.

You hit that baseball really hard, I was impressed by..........    You fill in the blank.

I am sure your compliments will help boost his esteem.

Feel free to let him talk when he feels he needs to talk to someone about whatever.  You can tell him you are sorry he feels that way about himself and that you honestly do not see what he does in himself.
