I'm a singer/ songwriter who wants to get her music out there. I don't really have a genre I just like two write an d sing about life the good and the bad. I'm thinking about starting a band. I know I don't have the most "marketable look" but I wonder if talent, confidence and a good band can overcome that. I don't necessarily want to "make it big" or get really famous (I mean if that happens great but I my main purpose is to give other people something to relate to, inspiration and an outlet for their feelings). How and where would I start. Do I start recording demos, where would I send the demos to? If anyone has any tips for me it would be much appreciated.

I know the music/ entertainment industry is a lot of hard work and can be harsh, but I'm willing to try.
