1. Try starting your backswing with just your shoulders for the first 8-10" of your takeaway. If your first move of your takeaway is to break your wrists this will help. It will feel stiff for a while.

When I start topping iron shots, I find my head either raises or lowers on the backswing so I try to keep it very still..no up or down moves in the swing.

    Hope it helps ya.

  2. However it happens it happens on the way to the top. When your swing is set at the top all hinges should be loaded.

  3. Here is a little trick, put either an old cassette tape, or playing card on your wrists to help remind you to keep your wrists straight.

  4. Topping the ball is pulling your head up before impact, try setting the logo on the ball up so you can see it,line up the logo to the target. Don't take your eyes off the ball,I had the same problem.Good Luck, see you on the links, have fun.

  5. If you're topping the ball then you are probably letting the club head get ahead of your hands before impact. In that position you are swinging up on the ball and are more likely to strike the top of the ball instead of behind it. Another way to top the ball is lifting your head too early to see where the ball is going.

Your wrist break is actually a good thing. It will give you more power at impact and this is where you get some distance. Not breaking your wrists would be like taking a huge putting stroke. When you are putting you are not supposed to break your wrists; club, arms and shoulders move as one unit.

  6. its not all bad to break your wrist.

but you should get a swing glove off of the internet.

it makes youe wrist stay where they need to be

  7. I'm not sure who taught your friend but one has to break the wrists on the back swing so that the club shaft is parallel with your shoulders with the club head pointing to the target. The cocking of the wrists stores up power which will be released at point of impact( the ball) with the follow thru which now closes the wrists.

  8. youre actually supposed to break your wrists in your back swing. it's bad not to.

  9. dont break your wrists
