Question:

How do I brighten my white tank tops?

My white tank tops are 'filthy'. They get discolored because I wash them so much and then they get a brown tint to them. We don't normally use bleach when we wash our clothes. Can I soak them in a solution of bleach, or what is the best way to make them perfectly white again, like when I bought them?

  1. Try making a soak with hot water, bleach, and baking soda, it works on whites for any kind of stains,  I use it for my daughters white clothes all of the time, she is 5 and between her allergies (bloody noses) and well, she's 5, is ALWAYS spilling things.

  2. ~~Wash them in cold water and add hydrogen peroxide to the bleach dispenser. Makes sure you never put anything darker than a light beige in with whites, it darkens the water and that is why they get dingy.~~

  3. I love OxyClean, especially the powder form. I'm not saying your whites will be good as new, because some fabrics just don't get white again.

It works best on natural fabrics.

  4. baking soda, it usually doesn't irritate skin

  5. lots of folks use blueing to make whites whiter, i am a plumber and work in hundreds of homes a year  and  many many people  use blueing and swear by it

  6. Its soap build up use 1 cup white vinegar in the rinse and dry it in the sun the sun helps bleach it

  7. you could soak them in bleach but that might irritate your skin so if you do make sure you wash them well. You can also try OXY clean. Its that soap that always has the loud annoying guy on thier commercials but it works really well.

  8. I dont like bleach either. I always use Oxy Clean, it works great. You can get it at Target, Walmart, even your local grocery store in the laundry detergent isle! You can also soak them in this solution if you wish to get them their whitest!
