How do I build an outdoor habitat for my snake?

My vet recomended that I build an outdoor habitat for my snake so it gets the proper vitamens from the sun that it doesn't get from the lamp. He said to make a frame out of wood and then put a mesh screen around it. He said something about not having to burry the sides that far into the ground because snakes don't burrow under the sides. Do I burry the sides or so I just build a bottom to it? How far would I put the sides in the ground if I did? Do I leave him out there until it gets cold or rainy or do I bring him in every night?

  1. first of all what kind of snake and where do you live, you gotta make sure the weather simulates its natural enviroment, also you can get uv lighting that simulates the sun and gives the proper vitamins, also you can give it vitamin supplements.

  2. Corn snakes are nocturnal. They're not out in the sun. They're out at night. You don't even need a uv heat lamp let alone an outdoor enclosure. Kindly tell your vet to go fly a kite and find someone who knows what they're talking about.

  3. you dont want i had a snake and it got free they climb very well and they will f**t alot and eat white castle hamburgers and onion rigns

  4. I would find a new vet. I hate to say it, but he doesn't sound very knowledgable about snakes. Snakes do not need sunlight or UV lights. This has been proven countless times by biologists. Many lizards do need UV, but not snakes. Most snakes are nocturnal and don't care for sunlight anyway. Snakes get their vitamins from their food. UV lights and sunlight are unnecessary for a corn snake.
