How do I burn a dvd from my laptop?

I made a video with windows movie maker, as a christmas present for my friends. I made it an automovie and burnt it to a dvd+r 8x cd. I put it into the dvd player, and it will not play in eigther one of my dvd players. Please help?

  1. obviously you're laptop aint got a built in burner. Use NERO I pay 80$ for it but its good


  2. It's hard to say.

    One possibility is that the players don't like DVD+R (DVD-R is more standard).

    It's also possible you didn't format as a DVD. Players expect a certain structure including two folders named Audio_TS and Video_TS, and the use of VOB, IFO, etc. format files.

    Do some research on DVD structure and creation. Here's a link to get started.

  3. I had the same problem, you can burn music, but you need an actual dvd burner on your computer, even if you burn music, you cant burn videos. Sorryyy
