How do I buy a cd in Europe when I live in the USA?

Someone on here recommended, wisely so, that I buy a cd in Europe at a higher yield rate than one purchased here in the U.S., but never replied when I emailed him and asked how. Can anyone here help?

  1. Most likely the cost of shipping the CD back to the USA would offset any savings you would have received from buying it abroad.

  2. There is a way you can take advantage of European interest rates but it does not involve CDs.   If you buy the index fund FXE it is invested in European bank deposits.  The current interest rate is 3.3%.
