I am in Chicago (the US), trying to call a UK cellphone. I was told that the cellular code is 70 not 29. (I have tried both and I still can't get thru). The number that was given to me is 0114470 and then 8 numbers proceeding. Even my telephone company is confused. Please help me. I need to the exact sequence to call out from the US.

Much appreciated,

Tyni

  1. the dıalıng code for the UK ıs +44

so.. for ınstance ıf ı wanted to call (thıs aınt a real number)   ´07984567334´ from another country ı would dıal ıt as

    +447984567334

droppıng the 0 at the start

sorry about the ´ı´ usıng a dodgey turkısh keyboard lol

    x

  2. 0044.......UK code

Then the cell phone number with the first 0 omitted.

ALL UK cell phone numbers are 11 digits long and start with a 0....REMOVE that 0 and use the remaining 10 digits.

  3. The number that was given to you is the correct one: 011 (US exit code) 44 (UK country code) 70 xxxx xxxx (UK cell number). This is what you should dial. If it doesn't work try using another line/service.

  4. If the number is, for example 07777 777777

    You would dial 004417777 777777.

Hope this helps, if not just e-mail me through my profile page.
