How do I call a open a DMG file or an EXE file from a Flash projector?

I want to make a Flash executable projector, both for Mac and for PC. I want the file to call DMG files and EXE files so that programmes can be installed. I have permission from the relevant companies to distribute the software, but I don't know if using a standard getUrl() syntax will suffice. Is there a guaranteed way around it?

I also want to make the links work RELATIVELY, ie. regardless of the CD Drive letter (Windows only, Mac used the disc name). Any tips?

Well I'm not sure if you can use flash directly, but I do know you can use programs like MDM Zinc (which I use and highly recommend) and mProjector which which will both create projectors and standalone exe's for Flash.
