How do I call someone on their mobile from interstate?

Question

I live in SA and i'm trying to get through to someone that lives in Victoria but I don't know what extra numbers I have to add in to it. Or do I just input the mobile phone without any area codes?

Mobile phones usually have an area code that depends on where you got the phone. For instance, I could go and buy a phone in a city an hour and a half away that would have a different area code than what I have here at home. I'm supposing you're in San Antonio, you might have to try some Texas area codes in front of the cell number. And you might have to put a 1 in front of the area code, depends on how the phone companies have arranged long distance things . Next time ask them for their number including the area code.
