How do I cancel a credit / debit card subscription?

So desperate to download a particular program, i found it on downloadnova.com, and like an idiot, without even thinking, i just went ahead and paid the $5 membership fee with my visa electron card. However, I have just received the order confirmation email and it says "Special offer to Discount Video Pass: USD 1 for the first 3 days and 9.82 monthly thereafter unless cancelled".

I did not see this when ordering, and if i would I certainly wouldn't of purchased. This company look way dodgy anyway, they only started this year and the payment processor company website doesn't even work. It sounds dodgy to me.

Anyway, how can I make sure that no more payments are sent from my electron card to this website?

Call your credit card company or bank and tell them that you signed on to a service that is making unauthorized charges to your card. Request that they do not allow any transactions to occur with that company.

I signed up for something one time and quickly feared it was a scam. So, I contacted my bank and told them about it. It was kind of embarassing. But, they were very glad that I caught it and were happy to block any transactions with that company.
