Question:

How do I cancel my Yahoo Answers account?

No, I'm not pouting!

One of my questions was deleted and I have been unable to receive a reason why. I returned the dispute form that was sent to me and I requested additional information but I was sent a generic answer. In the generic answer I was told that I can lose my overall Yahoo account if I continued to make mistakes. How can I not make the same mistake if I am not clearly told what the mistake was?

I was threatened that if the mistake persist, I can lose my overall Yahoo account. I'm bound to make more mistakes if I don't know what Im doing wrong. Yahoo email is too important to lose. It's my lifeline to my son in Iraq. The stakes are too high. I'd rather cancel this account rather than lose other accounts.

I searched FAQ's, Tips, Community Guidelines, Terms of Service. etc but found nothing. With not even a email address or phone number to call, I was left to post here.

Seriously, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I just have too many problems to be troubled about losing other accounts.

This is a pretty cool forum. People say things that keeps the blood circulating properly. It has it's sarcastic pranksters to theologic scholars ( you know who you are) but I've got enough to worry about.

So, if anyone can give me the neccessay information on how to back away from this account, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's been fun but I've got to run.

Thanking you in advance.

dear ol' mom

(that's what my son calls me)

  1. Just don't log on anymore.  Beware, a 12 step program may be necessary though.

  2. You can't delete your answers profile. Just don't log on to Yahoo answers if you are concerned.

There are other email services you can use. Just search the internet for another provider. Don't let Yahoo control your life.

  3. In the mail you received, buried near the end will be an address to send a challenge to the removal. Do not simply reply to the e-mail, you will just get a generic response as you have found.

  4. I've lost count of the number of Q & A I've had removed over the last couple of years.  And I've not been suspended or deleted once.

    So, don't fret over it.

  5. Tell a liberal the truth

  6. Why not just create a new account and use it for answers. Don't use your email acct for answers.

  7. You don't have a yahoo answers account.  You have a yahoo account, Y/A is just one of the "services" you can use with your yahoo account.

You need to eliminate the whole yahoo account, if that is your goal.  Otherwise, just don't use Y/A.

You can also use gmail or hotmail should the yahoo n**i's dump you.  You could also create another account just for y/a.  I did:)

  8. Simple.

    Stay off Yahoo Answers.

  9. just open a new account for using answers and keep this one for email......there are thousands of people on here with multiple accounts

  10. I strongly suggest you create a separate Yahoo account and use it for Yahoo Answers only.  That way, if it gets suspended, you won't lose your e-mail, messenger, and other stuff.

  11. I have a list of questions they do not post but take the points. Sounds like a republican public policy.

    Here answer this one

  12. Delete your Profile Info and just stay away from Yahoo Answers altogether.  In good time (about 24 hours), you'll fade off of the face of Yahoo Answers.

However, removing your account through Yahoo Answers is not possible, since it is tied to your overall Yahoo Account.  Sorry.

  13. You know what, don't feel bad. From your explanation above you seem like a reasonable person. Your question is not valid however. If you're worried that Yahoo Answers might lead to you losing your email account then just don't use it. It is clear that because Yahoo ignored your request for an explanation that they are not acting professionally, although I expect that a personal response would increase their risk for legal action with regards to free speech, so it makes sense that they have ignored you. Thank you for your sons service to this country by the way. Myself and the other members of the military thank you for raising a person with the integrity and willingness to serve this country.

  14. Relax my dear.  I've been on Y/A since April 28 of this years, I have over 35,000 points and have had numerous notifications.  If you're really concerned, just don't use it.  There is no penalty for not using it, and it won't affect your email.  Sorry this upset you, but this site has problems from having too many kids online along with paid hack, trolls and kneejerk wingnuts.  Throw in the fact that human eyes likely never spy the deletions in question, and things can be rather irritating.  Just relax, and I wish you and your son all the best.

  15. worse case they delete your account. all you do is make a new yahoo account and change your id. make sure you have your sons email address somewhere so you can email him from your new account with no worries about forgetting it.

  16. Quit pouting. Everyone experiences some odd behavior when they are working on some updates.

  17. I wish I could help.  I've thought about deleting mine as well.  You may just want to stop coming to this part of Yahoo and/or just stop answering questions.

  18. Just keep saying things that insult the republicans and your account will get suspended fast.   I have already had 4 accounts suspended since coming to the politics and election section.

  19. Post a lot of conservative leaning questions.

The Answers Gestapo will cancel your account for you.

  20. Hey Mom, Just stop using this email account to play on here. Make your Q's and A's private on this one and make it so no one can be your fan - that way nobody can troll through your history and report all your old stuff.
