How do I care for my sunflowers at the end of the season?

I have no green thumb but I did do a good job growing them....Do I have to cut them all down? Will they come back next summer? Help!

  1. Sunflowers are annuals, so they only survive one season.  They can self-seed but birds and animals tend to eat the seeds.  Let the flower dry out and go to seed and collect them to plant for next year.
