How do I catch a baby chipmunk?

my cat brought home a baby chipmonk and injured its front leg and now we have trapped it in my garage so we can catch it but im having trouble. i need to catch it soon so it doesnt die

Catch it using peanut butter like someone mentioned, and then bring it to a wild animal shelter (like an Audubon Society) in the area. If it is injured, they will care for it.

I volunteered at the Audubon Society when I was a teenager. We used to feed orphaned baby squirrels, opossums, skunks, etc. with eye droppers.

The chipmunk will die no matter what you do, sorry.  If it's a baby - and I doubt it is - its mother won't want it back, especially if you touch it, and you have no business touching it.

And why are you asking in this forum anyway?
