Question:

How do I catch a bat in my house? Orkin or Terminix man! Help!?

Our problem is unique, in that the bat most likely entered the house through our +90 furnace and is now in our utility room. The utility room is in our basement and is in the unfinished portion of our basement. The rest of it is finished; to the east side of the utility room our basement's ceiling is a drop ceiling, and to the north we have a dry-wall ceiling. We need to find a way to attract the bat and somehow catch it before it ventures into the area of dry-wall ceiling where we can't get to it and becomes stuck-- or worse OR find a way to attract it to the drop ceiling tiles, where we can access it easily and take it outside.

  1. they are quick little suckers.  My cat caught the one that got into our house and we tried everything.  My suggestion would be to call your local conservation agent and see if they have any traps for bats or know of any way to get them out of your house.  I know this happens all the time in my town so they should be used to things like that.  Or you could just get a cat lol.  Good luck.

  2. Bats like fruit, maybe that would attract it to where you could catch it.
