  1. If you're sure which room he escaped in, then keep the door closed! Put the food dish in the middle of the room and just watch it until the hamster comes out. If it's a syrian, then it will be easy to catch it. If it's a dwarf then it still will be farely easy to catch it. But if it's a robo dwarf, then you have to be quick. Also, wait untill it's in the middle of the room, so it will be less likely for it to get scared and hide again.

    Hope I helped! = ]

  2. wow thats gunna be a job! i had 2 gerbils 2 weeks ago (now they are dead ='[ they killed each other!) anyway 1 of them got under my t.v. stand and it took us over 1 hour to get her out! she was way to fast for us and we just got her from the store that very day -.- wat we use were coathangers and we got on both sides of the t.v. and when she ran 1 way we pushed her towards us and it doesnt hurt them it just moves them

  3. Does he have a favorite treat? (I'm assuming he is lost in the house) I have a bunny and before, I had no way of finding him when he ran around my apartment. But I have this box of gum drop treats that he likes. Well lately I have been able to just shake that box to make the noise like I am taking them out and giving him one. And he usually comes for the treat (if he is close).

Or you can try what they do in the movies, go to the pet store and buy one that looks like him.

When tlaking to him, just tell him what happened. And why it's important to keep them in their cages and such. That way, when he gets another, he wont lose it because he learned from the first time.

  4. Check all dark corners and under furniture. Hamsters are nocturnal so they will do most of their moving at night. I usually found my runaways in closets, they shredded all the carpet in the corners and there was usually a little food too. Keep an eye out at night and you will probably see him running against the walls.

  5. yet anything other pets(i.e.cats&dogs) and little kids out of the hose, locate what room the hamster is or pick the one you bet he is in. turn off the lights and put some food on the floor for him and wait quietly.

  6. Buy a cat

  7. you should look in warm places like behind the entertainment centre

    or behind the couch

if hes not there use his favorite treat to get him out

and if you don't find him gently reassure the owner that it will all work out

  8. Okay first look around for food or droppings. Whenever my hamster gets out I look for a trail of p**p. If you don't see anything shake his food, and go around the whole house and sit in the middle of each room and shake. If that doesn't get his attention, try placing a bucket full of food in a few rooms. Stack books to make stairs for your hamster to find then place a thin book over the bucket so when the hamster climbs onto the book he falls in. Check the buckets every once and a while to see if a hamster is there.

If nothing works and the hamster is no where to be found, explain to the owner that he got out and you searched really hard for him. Give him a hug and tell him you will still keep looking. Maybe even offer to buy him a new one. I know how hard it is to look at an empty cage... but don't offer unless a week has gone by and he is still missing.

  9. First off I had a hamster who ran away all the time, she even pushed phonebooks off of her cage and got out! We could never find her even with hours of trying to find her, but if we sat down and wait, we would see her run across the floor!

Just make sure that you keep the areas secure where she can get hurt like the vent for the furnace, and once you see her corner her in a room and get her with a box, that was the best way that i had tried.

Just explain to him, your going to do the best you can to find the hamster, that hamsters are very intelligent at hiding and is probley scared since there on the floor, but you will do your best once you see them,

  10. Hey hun a run away hamster isn't fun to try to catch but it is possible first you have to locate it you said there are a couple little ones in the house get em out to find it and then you need to lay some of his food out and be very quite and listen to where he may be and then once you find him you need to sneak up to him andsnatch him but do this very quitly or other wise he will run away soo good luck and i hope i helped
