Question:

How do I catch up when behind in studies?

I am an accounting major and I just finished week 2. I haven't missed a class so I've got all the notes. For some reason I did some serious procrastinating and I haven't read any off the chapters or done any practice problems. Next week we are bound to have some quizzes and the following week tests. I know the obvious answer is to start studying. I just wondered if anyone out there has been in a position where they had to cover a lot of ground in a short period of time. Any tips. I'm currently in a constant state of worry and feel bad about myself for being so lazy.

  1. Stop procrastinating and get busy reading.

Get off line and start focusing on your classes.

The guilt will stay until one of 2 things happens.

    1.  You start studying and pass your quizzes

    2.  Until you just don't care anymore which usually results in failure.

I don't mean to sound so harsh but tough love is what you need. Go go go go read read read.

You have the whole weekend.. but it's ONLY three days.  Time is still ticking.. What are you still doing reading this?  go go go

  2. ditto to Rita's answer!

  3. First, take a deep breath. What's done is done!!! You should have...but you didn't. Now you can only try. In a way it's "good" that you made this mistake because it will teach you a valuable lesson - NEVER TO DO IT AGAIN. Once you get off yahoo answers, and you begin to catch you, you will see how difficult it is to actually make up all of those reading assignments a week before the tests. You'll have to cram so much information into your brain that it won't last long at all. That's another reason why you're suppose to study every day - so you can retain information for a longer time period.

The only thing I can tell you is to start studying. Some tips:

    - Since your already late, just skim through the things you know. You don't have time to go through them again. You can do that later.

    - Eat well. Whatever you put into your mouth will affect your body and your mind, especially.

    - You need your sleep. Try to study as much as you can but DON'T not sleep. If you don't sleep... you might fall asleep during your exam or you will forget everything by then.

    - And take 5 minute breaks in between each hour... Your brain needs time to process all of the information your taking in.

    Good luck.

Remember, your education comes first!!! When you're done studying, you can celebrate with a party!

  4. STUDY and study and study until you cant study any more!!! The more you study the better you'll do i promise

    Good luck =]

  5. Check out the tips at the end of each chapter.  There is usually a whole page of things that you should have learned throughout the chapter.  Look at those, take extensive notes of those and know those points and you should start to catch up pretty quickly.
