So everyone hates me, lol. So basically I got placed in stage band instead of english. Problem is, I ONLY took band last year becase it was mandatory, and I learned absolutely nothing. I don't want to seem like I'm harassing the school or messing up placement, but I cant stay in my assigned class. What should I do?

  1. Go talk to your guidance counselor. They will be able to point you in the right direction.

  2. Soeak to your guidance counselor.

  3. You and your parent / guardian need to see the school counselor or the administrator (usually an assistant principal) for your grade  as soon as possible.  If you delay it too long, it will be hard to catch up in the new class.

You stated that you "don't want to seem like I'm harassing the school or messing up placement," but you will probably have to be pushy because schools automatically say no because they know that lots and lots of students want their schedule changed.  On that note, in addition to being pushy, you also need a good reason.  I don't like the teacher / my classmates, the teacher / my classmates don't like me,  won't cut it.

You mentioned that you "learned absolutely nothing" in band last year, so perhaps you need to let the counselor / administrator know that your skills aren't that strong (if it's true) and that you can't play the instrument at the level expected of someone in the stage band.
