How do I change it so that to gain approval, a person must tell me about themselves and why they want to join?

My group is already restricted, but they don't have to tell me anything about themselves as it is.

management- under group settings click memberships- Membership Type and Welcome Message (Edit) <-- click the edit- select and check restricted- click save changes

then if you want, go to membership on top middle of group near description- scroll down to very bottom and select and check the boxes of your choice, one being pending members- click save changes (a notice will then go to your e-mail when there is a pending member awaiting approval
