  1. CMPUNK..  got most of it right...

but...  when you disconect the old battery...  take off the black wire(negative first)..

when you connect the new bayttery..  put the RED wire on first.(positive),,

  2. Ok, well first off, take off your seat. Usually undoes with the key.

After that, you need to take off the clamp that holds the battery in, Its usually a rubber strap. Also check if the battery has a plastic drain tube attached and make sure that comes out too.

Next, use a screwdriver or a spanner to remove the black and red leads off your battery.

The battery will now lift out.

If they battery comes with bottles of battery fluid, use them to fill the new battery now. Most dont, however, some do. Squeeze the fluid into the battery and replace the covers on the cells.

Now, put the battery into the bike, paying attention to the location of the positive (red) and negative (black) terminals, and make sure that you sit it the right way. If this battery has a plastic vent tube attached, make sure it goes into the hole on the bike provided for it. Most new batteries arent vented.

Connect the negative terminal to the battery. It may be tricky as some batterys have a nut inside the post, that you need to hold with a screwdriver to get the bolt started. Once it starts, tighten it up.

Repeat procedure with the positive terminal.

Reconnect the hold down strap, replace your seat and you are good to go1

  3. not to discourage you,but if you cant figure this one out on your own, youre going to be paying a fortune for repairs if you stay in the biking scene for any length of time.

how do you know you need a new battery ?have you tried to recharge the one thats in it ?
