How do I change the name of my 'documents and settings' folder?

I just bought a laptop (windows XP) from a guy, and I changed almost all his name to my name. I changed the task manager name, login name, ect, etc. But the one thing I can't change is:

When you go into My Computer, C:, Documents and Settings, then there is a folder with his name on it (Josh Alesis). It says I can't change the name because it's a system folder. How do I change this name to my name?

  1. You shouldn't change the name. Create a folder C:\<yourname> and Copy all of the items on the desktop and My documents to that folder.   Goto User Accounts control panel and select change the way users log on or off.  Click on Use Welcome Screen.

Now create an account for you.  Log off his account and log in as you.  Go back to User Accounts control panel and delete his account.  Change the way users log on or off again to not use the welcome screen (unless you like it that way).

Now his name is gone and your's is there.

Copy all the items you moved to the C:\ location back.

File/owner permissions will be messed up if you don't do it this way.
