How do I change the name of the columns and Rows on Excel spread sheets?

On an Excel spread sheet all the columns are named by Letters and I would like to change them to names, how do I do that?

  1. In Excel 2003 go to Tools>options>view and remove the check from row and columns headers. Now you have a sheet without the numbers and letters. Put in your names, shade them if you want and the sheet should look like you want.


  2. That cannot be done.  Your options are either letters or numbers.  The best you can do is to make the first row your headings.
