How do I change the transmitter on my rc boat?

The transmitter is the handset. To change that, just buy a new one and put your crystal and batteries into it.

If you mean the receiver, the bit inside the boat, just disconnect the plugs going from the receiver to the servos, and the one from the receiver to the battery. Remember to use the same crystal, or buy a new one of the same frequency.

Put coloured tape on the wires so you know which one went where, just to help you link everything back up. Try not to cut the wires if you can, but if you have to, cut them as close as possible leaving enough wire to still connect them back up without pulling them tight.
