Question:

How do I charge my Pocket PC's Backup Battery?

I have a Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC. I keep getting a message that says "Backup Battery Very Low -- To prevent possible data loss, replace or recharge your battery according to the owner's manual." When I check my Power it says that my Backup battery is at 0%. I'm not certain how that happened. But, I would like to charge it if possible. I checked my Dell Axim X5 User's Guide and other papers I got with it and it only tells me how to charge the Main Battery and not the backup battery. Is it possible to charge it or do I have to buy another? The words on the backup battery read as: maxell CR2032 3V Hitachi Maxell, Ltd. Japan. I've tried just plugging in the PC like I would to charge the main battery but, the backup battery won't charge at all like that. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  1. The backup battery on my Axim X30 charges on its own when the main battery charges. I would suggest getting a new backup battery. The 2032 is a common battery found at any department store. Look in the Photo Lab or Electronics depts.
