I'm about to add something to my registry and if I decided I don't want it. I would like to be able to remove it. It's a reg-key for a program.

So I want to know how to check files in my registry and how to delete them if possible.

  1. You shouldnt have to edit the registry to enter the code for a piece of software, it will prompt you to enter it during the installation procedure....

But, if you need to edit the registry... use regedit.exe you will find it at C:\Windows\regedit.exe on your computer - all the registry files are in there - to delete one, just select it and press delete (or go to Edit > Delete).

A NOTE: Playing around with the registry files in Windows is only recommended for experienced users! as it is possible to mess up your whole system if you delete the wrong things. Always make a 'System Restore Point' before you start doing anything (go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and create on there)
