  1. auto with dip stick manual with little finger removee plug on side of trans stick little finger in hole if you touch oil it good

  2. get your car good and warm, park on a level surface, raise the hood, leave it running, pull the stick out, wipe it off, put it back in and then pull it back out and read it. if it,s low fill it to the full mark.

  3. there are 2 dipsticks in the engine.

when you pull 1 out, if the fluid is black, thats engine oil

when you check the other dipstick, and its red, thats transmission fluid.

  4. Many cars are not set up to check the transmission fluid. Just look for a second dipstick. If your car does not have one, the fluid is not meant to be checked.

  5. HI

An automatic is checked with a dip stick under the hood with the motor running at operating tempature in park. it is also filled thru the dip stick tube and the add mark is usualy 1 pint mark or 1/2 quart.

A manule is checked at the transmission under the car. there  well be a plug in the side of the transmission. you pull it out and stick your pinky finger in to the first knuckel if you touch fluid it OK..

    good luck
