How do I check my browser settings?

I am trying to load Java and it always says check your browser settings how do I do this?

  1. Go to the top of your screen at the right hand side, and click on Tools.

    Then click on Internet Options.  Click on the Advanced Tab, then scroll about halfway down that list, and there is a Java setting.  Make sure that box is checked to USE Java.  If there is no such thing, you may have to do an internet search and download the Java software to beef up your Internet browser.
