How do I check what GCSE exam and the results from 17 years ago?

I have recently been unfortunate enough to lose my job and I am now looking for alternative employment.

My problem is that in the 17 years since I have left school I have done a lot of moving around and have lost any documentry evidence of my qualifications, and can not remember what I took or what grades I got.

I have only ever done unskilled work so I have never needed to use them anyway.

I am now going for jobs that I know I can do and are a little more demanding when it comes to putting down qualifications.

I do not want to lie on my application / CV!

Thanks in advance.

  1. First of all you need to contact your school to find out who your examining board was as they differ from area to area

Then you can contact them via a website to apply for copies of your certificates

    copies cost £30

If your school isn't helpful call OCR

    www.ocr.org.uk

They should be able to tell you who your examining board was for your area

  2. Much as the previous answer. There used to be quite a few exam boards but they amalgamated to just a small number now so other boards to try would be

    AQA         www.aqa.org.uk

    Edexcel   www.edexcel.org.uk
