How do I chill out?!

I get vary panicky about things and am constantly worried, either by what people think or what I should be doing. It's ruining my life, I cant calm down!

I just need ways of letting go and 'chilling out' as I cant seem to do it. I used to be incredibly relaxed (probably too much so) and I miss that and can't seem to get it back.

I'm quite stressed with university and moving house, but I focus more on little things like what people think of me and all that tripe.

HELP!

  1. the best thing you can do is let your mind wander, wander and wander. go to a relaxing place and stay there for an extended length of time. breathe properly and calm your mind

  4. I have been there, I had a move from Japan to America. I have PTSD and anxiety. I have times when I cannot calm down as well, and it is the little things like what people think, I used to worry about that as well.

    I realized in my experiences, that I focus on these little  things because the big things like you mentioned, university and moving are major stressors!!!! I totally understand, but I believe that you can be the person you once were, just right now you are going through some major life changes.

    I have gotten massages, meditated, exercised, but these are only temporary fixes and only work for a little bit. Sure enough I am back to being stressed out again. I too miss being the fun person I used to be. But because I was that person once before, like you, we can become that full person again:) I am not knocking the importance of good nutrition, exercise, and taking good care of yourself, these are important factors in helping relieve stress. Whatever works for you:)

    I read your question and thought about an article I wrote for Prevention Magazine Online, it has some plans to help with these things that you are talking about, and have helped me during stressful situations so I can relax. A Big Bonues is that using these plans I feel more-self-confident, less stressed so I have the motivation and energy to do things I like even though I have issues to deal with just like everyone else.
