How do I choose/size oars for my 18' sailboat?

Will drift boat oars work? I found some 9-1/2 footers for $150

They probably will work well. We had a friend who had 10 footers for a Flying Scot(19 feet). The rest of the answer depends on the beam of the boat and how high you are from the water.

a oar needs to be about the same size as the legth of the boat and a foot less for every pair of oars you have
