How do I cite a website in my paper?

For example, the website is About.com, the author is John Doe and the year is 2008. How exactly would I cite that in my paper using parentheticals?

u put down the name of the author that wrote it and the publication date i think

You choose what type of source it is and whether you want the citation in APA or MLA format and then enter in the information you know into blank boxes and they format the citation for you (parentheticals too!)
