Question:

How do I claim community service credits?

I've been volunteering at the local summer school to get community service credit. This is because I really want to be in the National Junior Honor Society, which requires good grades and community service. I have good grades already, but I'm not sure how to go about claiming credit for the 40+ hours I did as a volunteer. One of the teachers at the summer school is a friend of my mother's, and the teacher recommended me for this job. So far it's been okay. However, the principal of the school gave me a gift card (since I'm too young to get paid) and I don't know how to ask her to give me community service credit without seeming rude. And is it even considered community service credit if you get a present from your employer???

Anyway, even if she does agree to give me credit, how does she do it? Should I write a letter and ask her to sign it or something? Please help me- the last day of school is tomorrow, and everyone's getting paid.

  1. you have to have the princable or the teacher (who ever you were helping) and have them write a note or letter saying how many hours you worked. you just have to have proof of how many hours.
