  1. Dump some baking soda down the drain. Let it sit a while and then flush it with water,

  2. Replace the drain pipe. That's the best way to fix it, and it gives you a clean pipe, and it also gives you a chance to change other things at the same time!

  3. What I do is, put a stopper on both sinks, fill with hot water about 1/4 full, put 1/2 cup of detergent and 1/2 cup of bleach in each sink ,mix well, then release both stoppers at the same time. This allows the pipes to be full of hot soapy with bleach water and pulls any bacteria formed on the lining of the pipes. Then place a stopper on each sink and again fill 1/4 full of hot water, then release the stoppers at the same time this will rinse the pipes well. It works very well for me. If you do not have bleach handy, use white vinegar instead of bleach. Good luck!

  4. under the sink there must be a u shaped p trap now look even harder see if there is an extra (second p trap) at the top of the second trap see if there is just a riser piece cut off at the top just a pipe sticking up if so pour water or oil into that riser piece about a quart to fill the trap and eliminate gas coming out

  5. put baking soda in the drain

  6. We use bleach in the hospital where I work!  Bleach will kill anything that is growing in there..  Good luck!
