Question:

How do I clean chocolate milkshake from beige car upholstery?

I just spilt some chocolate milkshake on the seat of my best friend's brand new car (as in, he got it today...oops!). Because the milkshake was runny and the upholstery has a very absorbent texture, it set in quickly. Although it's a small stain (about the size of a postage stamp), it's very noticeable because the fabric is sandy-coloured and the stain is dark brown. Needless to say, I feel really bad about it and want to clean it up ASAP.

So... how do I get the stain out without discolouring the upholstery? I was thinking:

-Mix up a solution of hot water, a teaspoon of white vinegar and a couple of drops of washing-up liquid.

-Use a toothbrush to gently scrub the solution into the stain

-Cover the stain with some baking soda and salt, and scrub some more with the soapy solution

-Let the liquid dry and clean off the baking soda and salt

-Hopefully the stain is gone?

Would this do the trick? My main worry is discolouring the fabric, which is why I want to be sure that the above method would remove the stain, and leave the fabric colour as it was, before I try it out.

If someone knows a way to remove the stain, which *definitely* wouldn't discolour the upholstery, I'd be VERY grateful!

Thanks for your help!
