How do I clean excess grout from the surface of a porous tile?

I layed a floor last week with 12 x 12 tile that has a semi-porous surface. After grouting, a lot of the surface pits have grout left in them. I am having a terrible time geting it loose. Most of it that I have removed has been a very tedious process of picking with a knife point. Is there a tool or solvent that will do this?

  1. a brass wire brush but id try on a spare tile first to make sure it doesnt scratch the tile if it does try  a stiff scrubbing brush

  2. nope, you should have gently brushed it up with ur wet sponge after installation.

BUT, you could use a very fine sandpaper, you did say ur tile was semi-porous.   So using 400- 500 grit sandpaper will be fine.
