I want to clean my PS2 lens because its started being very unreliable with certain games that aren't even that dirty. Its a slim PS2 so I can reach the lens easily but scared to do anything drastic. Any suggestions?

  1. Get a Lens Cleaner Disc, they're special discs with little brushes that are designed to clean your lens, you can get these almost anywhere electronics are sold, go to your local GameStop, RadioShack, etc.., they have it, it's cheap so don't worry about it

  2. An easy way to clean it is by buying a special "cleaner CD" which has a little brush/sponge on the underside of the disc. When your PS2 spins the disc around, the brush/sponge cleans the lens.

Check out this Amazon product, http://www.amazon.com/56500-Allsop-CD-La... That's what you need, you can pick one up at any electronics store if you aren't too fond of buying over the net.

  3. Just use alcohol and cotton buds. Do it easy, don't press on the lens.

  4. Rubbing Alcohol will work thats what i used with mine. but u only need alittle bit dont wet the whole q tip just the tip. then you can let it air dry or if you feel you must dry it yourself you can dab it dry lightly with the other side.

  5. Well i would recommend:

Getting Rubbing alcohol, Dip a q-tip in it, clean the laser as much as you can, wipe extra liqued off with a kle-nex,(the rest will dry)

Now it should be as good as new:)
