How do I clean my contact lens cases properly?

Like I notice after a while, the cases have a slippery feel to them. Is it OK to wash them with tap water and air dry them or do we really have to clean them with the solution?

  1. I give all my Patients free cases if they ask. See if the place you get yoeur eye exam has a trial kit you can have to replace your kit. They might just give you a few. But we do reccomend cleaning your contact lens case after each use with either sterile solution or boiling water.

  2. Drop the case and the lid into a pot of boiling water on the stove for a few minutes , then let it air dry.

Just using tap water , not boiled,  can leave some bacteria in the case.

Then rinse with a bit of solution just before using it again.

It's best to get a new case about every 3 months also.

  3. To clean you contact lens case use just your basic tap water then let them air dry. That's all you have to do and remember to get a new case every 3-4 months.

  4. Correct, wash it with soap then tap water. air dry then before using, wash it again with the solution. Change the lens cases every three months.
