How do I clean my hard drive in a laptop?

I just read a message that says that my hard drive its low in spacde and I have to erase all the files that I don't need. How do I do that? Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Do not just open a window and start deleting stuff.. That's bad.

Click your start button and click on Settings, then control panel. In control panel click on Add/remove programs.  Remove any apps that you are 100% sure you don't use.  Games are a  huge install, so I would start there first.

Then ERASE all the files that u dont need!!! in other words, DELETE!!! in other words do a right click on any file that u no longer need and select delete then go to trash and empty it....

if u dont wanna do that, just get a flash disk, and put all the files that u care about but temporarily dont need on it, its very cheap now u can get a 2 GB one for 20$ or less.

Start>My Computer>Right click the hard drive>Format.

do this, and follow this steps, firs, click on my computer, right click on The C drive, click properties, click  disk clean up, when the little screen shows up, click options, delete all of the previous restores points, except the last one, this process will save lot of space in yr pc.

then click when you done,

now do the same process, click on my computer, click on the c drive, click windows, look for a file name prefetch, delete everything there , is just another copy of temporary files.

run disk cleaner, it's one of your programs under system tools.. also, you can go in and look at programs you no longer use, such as game demos that only last 60 minutes, and delete those, as well.. once you've done that, and deleted cookies, and temp internet files, run a defragmentation and that will help.
