How do I clean my room and make it ready for high school?

I am 13 years old, 14 in August.

I recently painted my room, purple and green, 4 months ago. I have already bought new bedding, but I cannot get it until my birthday, and until my room is clean. When I painted my room, I got a new desk which is now a mess. I really want some ideas on how to make my desk more usable for high school, by the way I plan on doing my homework in there. I am saving for a laptop, so that will go on my desk but I don't know what else I need to study, etc. Are there any inexpensive things I need to help me study at home?

The other part of the question is cleaning my room where do I start? What do I need to organize clutter what about my closet? It's a mess!!

Here some pictures of my room and please no rude comments about things that I have or what not.

Under my bed {Lots of room for storage!}

  1. first off my dear start by picking up your clothes. you need to sort through those and put them up in retrievable places in your closet. as for your desk. sort through that by putting some of your books and papers, etc. on the rack below or the shelves above. other things like beauty supplies and such can go on your dresser , arrange them so that you know where everything is and you don't have to throw everything everywhere to find them. As for under your bed....you can use some of the bags that you have to store away some of the things that you hardly ever use. If I could show you my room you would scream for all of the items sitting in there...and no I am not in High school. I am starting college soon.On your desk for school supplies and studying you can set up some materials for when you work on your homework and projects. leave the center open for all your work to be done there and the back space under the shelves for you laptop later on. Hope that I helped you. If you need any other help in this general area don't hesitate to ask....good luck and happy cleaning!!!!

  2. Get all the c**p off your floor and sort it out- bin, laundry, put away etc

Sort out your closet. Hang up your clothes and give the clothes you don't wear to charity

Sort out your chest of drawers to make room for some stuff

Get a box or basket for your nail polish and the other stuff on your desk, and put it on the shelf above the right side of your desk

Get some storage boxes with lids to put stuff under your bed, like some clothes and books/magazines

Sort out the stuff on your chest of drawers and put it in some boxes, or with stuff that's like it

Get some box files for your school stuff and make sure your desk is clutter free

Storage boxes do the world of good

If you can, get a curtain for your bed, so you can cover the boxes and stuff under it

  3. I'm a senior this year, and trust me haha your not going to care what your room looks like by the end of the 1st sem. I can't even see my floor half way through- NO TIME with work and AP classes.

Heres some quick tips as well::

9th grade..hmmm. Your teachers will give you books to study with. Take excellent notes- NO SLEEPING. You will be fine. You'll most likely get lost, don't ask a student where to go, they'll just tell you the wrong direction and laugh. If your late, they won't hold it against you.

Do not wear anything with bright flowers- you'll get judged within the first 5 minutes. Skinny jeans are amazing- own them. Flip flops and flats rock. Unfortunantly high school students show off their expensive brands, and you will fall a victim to it. Ex:: Hollister, American Eagle, Pacsun, all of the surfer brands ( roxy, billiabong ect.). Aero is still worn, but rarely, it is seen as a middle school brand.

Totes  or big purses are better than backpacks, upper classmen rarely use the packs anymore. Do not wear anything having to do with Hannah Montana or whatever that chicks name is, no Jonas Brothers either- that won't be a go.

You really don't need a laptop. Hang as much as you can up in your closet, everything else stuff in your dresser, like I said, nothing will be organized for long.

And whatever you do, don't believe in freshmen friday. It's stupid. No one does anything, it's just to scare you. And if you do get really upset about it ,always claim that your a sophmore.

  4. get rid of the stuffed animals.

  5. ur room is not that bad. but with it being so little i can see where ur coming from. if u did not just get back from a trip those suitcases can go in a hall closet instead of ur room or under ur bed. also sumthing that caught my eye was the shoes and clothes... shoe rack and u already have a laundry hamper in ur room. u now need is to get away from the puter and just do it. good luck and happy birthday!

  6. Use those bins in your closet and put clothing and accesories you aren't using inside.

  7. First :

You can't go to high school with those bags and those clothes.

    Get new clothes before anything!!

  8. Go through everything. Things that do don't need, want or use can be donated to charity if they are in good condition. Other things can be thrown away.

For under the bed storage, Wal-Mart has book shevles in the furniture section. They are about 3 ft tall and cost around $16.00.

Your dresser: Continue to use the top for the stuffed animals. They look cute perched up there. On the other shelves, go through them. Sort out what you don't want anymore. Then re-arrange with the new space, making space on the lower shelves for the photos from your desk.  If you can, clean out on of the small drawers next to the shelves to store your make up and all of the nail polish from the desk in.

Your desk:   Clean the whole desk off. Use the shelves for your books that you would like to keep there. You can get a desk drawer organizer to put all of your pens, pencils, markers, etc in. Keep the pull out tray for a keyboard cleaned off. You can use it when you have homework and need more room to write if you have a book open on the desk. Get some file folders, label them as needed to place your papers into, store them on the desk shelves.

The Closet: Clean up and organize the top shelf. Use the boxes that you already have to store little wot knots. What ever clothes that you have in the plastic drawered totes put to the side. Go throught them and see what you can put into your dresser. Clean out the bottom of your closet. Move what you don't use often to the top shelf. Hang up all of your clothes that need to be hung. After hanging your clothes, if you still have room, move the shoe thing from by the dresser into the closet. Place one of the drawered totes in the closet, use it for belts, scarves, etc...Put the other one under your bed or your desk for more storage.

Whole room: Move the doll bed and hamper to the corner by the dresser. Use the doll bed to store extra stuffed animals, or extra blankets in. If you don't want it, ask your parents if you can put an add in the local paper or on a website to sell it. Put suit cases in the garage or attic so they are completely out of the way. Get a rack that can hang from the back of your bedroom door to hang tote bags, purses and other things on.

    I hope this helps.
