We've tried the whole soap and water thing, but it stills smells? Any suggestions?

  1. There are also some little products in cube shape to absorb odors, but they are mainly made with bicarbonate soda. Their advantage is the fact that you cannot accidenttaly tip the content out in the fridge.

  2. wash the inside with bicarbonate of soda (half a tablespoon) mixed with a few drops of white vinegar and warm water .... leave the door open so it can air after you've washed it ....

TIP leave an eggcup filled with bicarbonate of soda in a fridge anyway ... it absorbs all odours ... just stir it up once a week ..... you'll know when it's gone off and time to replace - it takes on a 'yellow' colour ......

  3. Buy a few lemons cut them open and then leave them in there for 48 hours. Dont know how it works but it does.

  4. Box of baking soda can help. If your not planning on using it, then prop the door open with a wedge of wood, then tie rope all the way around it so only air can get inside..(no children) Children may try to use it as a hiding place, then suffocate later, so tie it up!

If you do plan to use it, then once you turn it on and the cool air gets to the inside, the smell will dissipate.

  5. I like the lemon idea, alternatively you can use a hospital grade lemon disinfectant.

  6. if you use bicarbonate soda with warm water to clean it, it netralises odours.

or the lemon idea :) that works too

  7. ummm.. Bleach?

  8. Two stage rinse.

first warm water with some vinegar (white) in it  to wash the insides the let that dry then do a warm solution of bicarbonate and let that dry it will be clean and fresh.

Leave it to dry fully in the air then turn it on.

never use bleach as it will rot the cooling coils.

  9. This can be a ventilation concern-make sure that the area your working in has good ventilation. try cleaning your freezer with hot water with 3 oz's of vinegar and dish sop-get the top layer off-and lay in a dish of vinegar for 24 hours and re clean the freezer.

  10. all other answers are good just once its cleaned leave the door open a crack

If blood has ever gotten into the freezer, say from some meat, you'll never get that smell out

  11. You could use antibacterial spray, vinegar, Pure lemon juice, If the freezer is not going to be used for a long time then use some jeyes fluid or White spirit, Just remember to wipe it down after using those.

  12. put heps of food it goes away soon

  13. Lay some bread slices in there and close the doors. The bread will absorb the odor.

  14. Crumple up news paper and pack it tight.

Let it sit for a couple of days then do it again.

    Always worked for me.
