Question:

How do I clean the white stains that the pool balls leave on the cloth?

I've had my pool table for some time now, and since the first time I breaked, the balls have left white stains or even white lines on the cloth of the table.

I really have no idea how to clean these and using water doesn't sound like a good idea; neither do any other cleaning products.

Does anyone have a good solution or will I have to periodically buy a new cloth, which is d**n expensive?

  1. Sorry but that is the cloth itself a brush will help but if really bad you need a new cloth And your right a good cloth is exp

    "But" Worth it Simonis would be my choice

  2. Sounds like chalk stains or you've scrapped the cloth if it wont remove with a brush then its been scrapped

  3. hi , use glass cleaner in an aerosol can get a brush { like a shoe brush } spray on cloth and brush down on the nap { away from the D }

  4. Afraid they aren't stains. Thats the cloth. The cloth is worn and lost its colour.

    It needs a new cloth i'm afraid.

    Best options are probably either: West of England wool cloth,or Simonis nylon. Not sure where the cheapest place to get a cloth is,but supremepool.co.uk sell both.

    Another option is to buy a new table from a tournament. I.e. Skegness butlins,Cleethorpes or Reighton.

  5. Sounds like you need new cloth

  6. What you're describing is old and worn cloth but since it's "new" that leaves some more possibilities.

    Does your cue ball and the other balls have a glossy finish? You can rule out the balls causing your problem if they do. If the finish is dull it is conceivable that the balls are leaving marks but it is very unlikely.

    Is there something UNDER the felt that might be bleeding through?

    Do you use powder for your hands? Anything like baby powder will attach itself to your hands, your cue, the balls and transfer onto the table. By the way, I would let somebody have their way with my woman waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before I would let somebody use baby powder or any other type of powder on or around my pool table. We're really talking about sacred ground here.

    Back to YOUR table though. Post some more information if you can or even include some pictures. That would serve to help diagnose your problem. I hope that helps.
