How do I close a inactive group when the owner's email no longer functions?

I am moderator on a group that has gone stagnate. I had thought I was the owner, as I had seen no one else on it in months. I tried to close it and realised I was not the owner but moderator, and hence could not delete it. I tried contacting the owner, which had a yahoo email address, but that address has been discontinued.

  1. Since the Owner is gone, your only hope to close the Group is to contact Yahoo Groups Customer Care at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/... .  Tell them the Group has gone stagnant and the Owner can no longer be contacted.  If they don't delete it, then there's no hope, and it will just become one of many stagnant Groups on Yahoo.

  2. only someone with the privledges can delete a group, there is no other way, sorry. there are may groups in this same situation as well and there is simply nothing that can be done. Yahoo only deleted groups due to TOS violations, not inactive owners or groups.
