How do I combine 1 picture with another?

umm well gimp 2(itz 4 free download but i dont no how 2 put a link lol) or u can try picasa 2(also free)  but if u got paint i can tell u how 2 combine 1pic with another: itz like dis::

open paint(with ur pic) then that star shape thing on da top left hand corner trace ur image and then open for eg: ur friendz pic(pic u wanna combine) then copy and paste. make them into da same size and then use the star and rectangle box(nxt 2 da star thing) and   ta da.....btw    most of my friends asked me this on yahoo and at skool and with the answer they were so impressed ....i like helping ppl   (btw plz excuse my instructions im not so good  in them.....i relly hope this helps cause when i had da same problem i asked every1 and most gav this answer...hope i get piked 4 best answer......cya
