How do I completely get rid of ANY adware on my computer?

Ok, so my computer was recently infected with Adware. My AVG must have detected roughly 15-25 Trojan Horses in the past couple days. With each day, the number has increased. I'd wake up one morning to 1, then 3, and so on. Last night, it was a full-on panic attack with my CPU. There was ridiculous p**n pop-ups every 30 seconds, I was being told to download AntiVirus 2009 etc.

So, I downloaded Super Anti Spyware and did scans and now the pop-ups are gone. However, I am now doing multiple scans within minutes of eachother to make sure my CPU is fine. Even still, Spyware is detecting threats. The good news is, the number of threats decreases with each scan. I've done about 4 scans. Is my computer clean? Will it be fully clean within the next couple days?

(I also have CCLeaner installed on my CPU help out along with AVG and Super Anti Spyware)

  4. This program will remove any spyware or other such software: http://dban.sourceforge.net/

  5. Download, update, then run full scans with both of these, pref in safe mode. ( hit f5 or f8 depending on your machine ) this may take a while depending on how much you have on pc.

    Remove anything both programs find.

Might be wise to use firefox or opera as your browser as firefox has a pop up add on while opera has one built in.

Should you still get any problems, post back on here with the name of whatever it is, for help on how to remove it.

    Good luck

  6. I had the same problem as you a while back

I downloaded countless pop-up blockers, the lot.

In the end i downloaded HIJACK THIS which scans all your files. After you get given a log report which you can save to your documents.

Then go onto a website like google and type in HIJACK THIS LOG FILE ANALYZER. Pick one, put in your log by following instructions and it tells you whats bad, unnecessary and good.

Then go back onto HIJACK THIS and put ticks by the bad and unnecessary files. Press the fix button and then scan again.

You may want to keep scanning, saving the log and putting it into the log file analyzer so that you've got everything

that will definitely get rid of it

    Hope it helps
