How do I conduct a follow up test ON A 2X2 mixed design ANOVA?

I also have a similar question but less complex . I conducted a 2x2 (group x time) mixed design ANOVA and it shows main effects in time but no interaction. How do I conduct a follow up test if I only have 2 groups ? it doesn't let me do it with only two groups. I am trying to conduct a t-test to see which group performed better, but can't the variables(group1group2) cannot be separated so how can i compared them? ANY help!!

  1. TWO-WAY ANOVA: "2X2 mixed design" (three different configurations to compute "interaction" )

Do not utilize "t - test" for ANOVA!  ANOVA does not indicate which group "performed better"!

ANOVA is "F-test"!!! for indicating differences between groups (with and without interaction).

    1. "NO EFFECT FOR FACTOR A"  [already conducted]

    Degrees of freedom for P-value

    (a - 1, a * b *(r -1)

    2. "NO EFFECT FOR FACTOR B"

    Degrees of freedom for P-value

    (b - 1, a * b *(r -1)

    3. "NO A * B INTERACTIVE EFFECT"

    Degrees of freedom for P-value

    [(a - 1) * (b - 1) , a * b * (r - 1)]

a = NUMBER OF LEVELS OF FACTOR A

b = NUMBER OF LEVELS OF FACTOR B

r = NUMBER OF REPLICATIONS PER CELL
